- In 1940, a network of defences was hastily built all over the British Isles to prevent an anticipated German invasion. Sited at road junctions, canals and other strategic points these constructions were called "pillboxes". This site attempts to show what remains of them today.

SS Leopoldville Troopship Disaster

- The troopship Leopoldville was torpedoed and sunk in the English Channel on December 24, 1944. There were 763 soldiers of the U.S. 66th Infantry Division killed. Bodies of 493 soldiers never found. Many photos on the Web site and drawings by Richard Rockwell (nephew of Norman Rockwell) depicting disaster.
